Welcome to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
Located at 1922 Iowa Ave., Flint, Michigan, St. Andrews strives to bring the reality of God's mercy to the people of Flint's Eastside by feeding people spiritually, providing meals and ministering to those in recovery.
John 21:17
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.
The mission of St. Andrews Church is to "Feed My Sheep" as Jesus commanded.
Our church ministries, with support from individuals and organizations from 11 counties, include the Eastside Friendship and Food Center which runs a soup kitchen every Friday and Saturday, as well as, a Sunday morning breakfast. Friday and Saturday the doors open at 10:00 am with Holy Eucharist being offered at 11:30 am and the meal being served from Noon until 12:30. Sunday our doors open at 8:00 am. Morning Prayer is at 9:00 am followed by the meal.
In addition to the soup kitchen, St. Andrews hosts recovery groups many times each week. Events include Foglifters AA and Al Anon and on Sunday St. Andrews hosts an Open Talk given by an AA or an Al Anon member. AA Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. Al Anon is a support and understanding group for friends and family of problem drinkers. For more information and for a complete schedule of meetings, please see our Ministries page.
St. Andrews' rector is the Very Reverend Dr. (Father) Jay Gantz. It is only because of the dedication of Father Jay and the many volunteers and donors, that "Feed My Sheep" becomes a reality.
